Board of Directors

The Chesapeake health Education Program is a 501 (C) 3 non-profit corporation established in 1990. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and a Revocable License between the Corporation and the VA Maryland Health Care System (VAMHCS) allows a close but separate working relationship with the Department of Veterans Affairs to accomplish continuing education and the provision of transitional housing for homeless veterans. CHEP is located at the Perry Point Campus of the VA Maryland Health Care System in Northeast Maryland and provides accredited continuing education programs for health care professionals. CHEP also provides transitional housing to 150 formerly homeless veterans each day in Charleston, South Carolina, Washington, D.C. and Perry Point, Maryland.

A Board of Directors representing a range of community health care organizations govern the non-profit corporation. All members share resources and are committed to achieving the goals established in the original corporate charter. In addition to the Board of Directors, the corporation employs a Chief Executive Officer who provides oversight and long range planning and a Chief Operating Officer who manages the day-to-day activities of the corporation.
